Sustainability and the Environment
We offer professional advice on sustainability through a team which includes Chartered Environmentalists and other in-house specialists.
The protection of the natural environment and the promotion of sustainable solutions are afforded high regard within our business and we have represented our profession in the local, national and global promotion of sustainability issues.
We are committed to highlighting adverse environmental practices and promoting opportunities for environmental enhancement. This has been recognised by our attaining the ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmental) accreditation.
BAQUS has a longstanding working relationship with the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in taking forward “Green” Building initiatives. We have worked together on numerous commissions, including preparing the complete Cost Book for the Envest2 Environmental Assessment Software.
Through our role as Employer’s Agent and Code Assessor, BAQUS have been involved with many projects which are required to meet Code for Sustainable Homes standards.
We work very hard to ensure sustainability in completed building and support the inclusion of innovative and modern sustainable solutions such as the use of photovoltaic panels, ground source heat pumps and bio-mass boilers. We are currently working with the Sustainability Consultants Envos on a new initiative which will enable clients to have the opportunity of taking advantage of the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive’ on multi-let schemes to either generate an additional income stream or to enable boiler installations to be provided free of capital cost by investors whose investment is recouped through the RHI payments.
