Baqus has recently completed the tasteful conversion of a Grade 2 Listed school house on Fratton Road in Portsmouth, into 18 unique Social Housing flats, which includes new loft apartments.

The whole development which also included a new build element was constructed over a 2 year period, expending over £3.5million and has significantly enhanced the local area.

The building has had an interesting history. It was originally constructed as a school where former British Prime Minister
James Callaghan was educated; the building was later converted to a radio station housing studios of Radio
Victory, and was more recently converted into offices accommodating the head office of Portsmouth Housing Association.

Converting the building into its current guise of social housing involved complicated works in order that it would comply with current building regulations, whilst retaining its character both internally and externally.
