Valentines Mansion was built around 1696-7. It is considered by English Heritage to be "of outstanding architectural or historic interest or of great importance to the nation's built heritage" and is Grade 2* listed.

Baqus were part of the successful Design Team application to Approved Stage 2 Heritage Lottery Funding.

The restoration includes external landscaping of the park as well as the total refurbishment of the mansion to restore it as a living museum allowing exhibitions in partnership with leading museums around the country to take place.

The project includes an interpretation/education show room – creating interior decoration schemes which reveal and highlight the long and layered architectural history of the house; installing dedicated permanent displays on the history of the mansion, garden and park.

To cohere with London Borough of Redbridge’s policy of seeking sustainable and renewable energy solutions, the building is heated using a wood fired biomass boiler.
