Baqus is experienced in providing technical advice both to promoters of projects seeking to obtain funding and also to funding organisations seeking reassurance that funding is properly given and their interests are protected.

The Private Finance Initiative (and its close relation Public Private Partnership) is a major source of finance for public sector developments particularly in the fields of health, education, justice and leisure. Baqus has a good range of experience of such projects including acting as Technical Advisors to commissioners, providers and funders of such schemes. Clients include Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Central Government, international banks and major contractors

Baqus has wide experience of Lottery Funding including assisting applicants to Sport England Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and the New Opportunities Fund. We also have experience of other types of "challenge funding" such as the European Regional Development Fund.

As well as assisting applicants, we have experience of assessing applications for funders including acting as advisors to Arts Council England and the Millennium Commission assessing applications and monitoring projects through the construction phase to completion. This has provided useful insight 'working on the other side of the fence' which has helped improve the standard of many of our clients' Lottery applications.
